Purpose
NAGCSWI is a once-a-year, rotating-city intensive for clinicians and community-based practitioners pursuing older-adult and geriatric social work. The core value is a hands-on skills refresh plus a structured competency check-off that cannot be completed remotely.

- Cognitive screening workflows (dementia/delirium) and differential considerations
- Depression, grief, isolation, and suicide risk in later life
- Elder abuse/neglect response and mandatory-reporting decision trees
- Safety planning, crisis response, and documentation standards
- Care planning across settings (hospital → SNF → home) and interdisciplinary coordination
